Transforming Technologies?printed anti static tape is a 2.4 Mil transparent cellulose with fast charge decay times. These Static Free Cellophane tapes come printed with bold black ESD logos and “Anti-Static” print. Use this tape?to seal packages, containers, or supplies and provide a visual alert that the items are ESD sensitive.

Transforming Technologies ESD safe clear cellulose tape with ESD Symbols is hand tearable and biodegradable. It is coated with a Solvent Based Natural Rubber Adhesive which provided excellent tack and holding power. Used for general purpose mending, binding packaging and carton sealing.

ESD Safe Tapes Help Minimize ESD Risk
The ESD Association develops the guidelines and test procedures that make up the ANSI/ESD S20.20 standard and its international equivalent IEC 61340. The standards are used to create ESD control plans by defining the requirements for ESD-protected areas (EPA). PCB manufacturers must have an S20.20 ESD control plan in place.

Part of?the S20.20 standard is ANSI/ESD S541, which defines?ESD levels in PCB packaging. This includes process-required insulators such as labels and tapes when used in proximity of ESDS devices. The S541 standard requires that labels and tapes must have a surface resistance of >104 and <1011?, as measured per ANSI/ESD STM11.11, to be considered static dissipative. Tape or label material must not charge above 125?volts when used within 1 inch, and build less than 2000V within 12 inches of ESDS devices.

A robust ESD control plan is an absolute requirement to mitigate the risks of ESD failures. A key element of the successful ESD control plan is managing the effects of charged insulators inside the production environment. Selecting low-charging and static-dissipative tapes, labels and liners that conform fully to ANSI/ESD S20.20 or IEC 61340 requirements, can effectively eliminate a major source of ESD.
